Discover Islam organized its 11th Medical Camp this year under the patronage of the Islamic Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs which coincided with International Workers’ Day (May 1, 2024). Over 1300 workers and laborers from ALBA and surrounding areas benefited from the camp. Discover Islam has always paid special attention to this category of the workforce alongside domestic helpers, as they are in dire need of care and support. Discover Islam also took the opportunity to distribute Da’wah materials and introduce Islam during these events.
The Head of Da’wah Department, Sayed Thahir, stated that 8 doctors and 30 medical assistants donated their skills and time to this free camp. He emphasized the importance of such programs, especially those targeting workers and domestic helpers, as their working conditions and limited income may prevent them from seeking and receiving medical care that they might need and Discover Islam plays a vital role in providing assistance to these underprivileged groups. Brother Thahir also commended the role of the over 90 volunteers who facilitated medical check-ups and distribution of medications smoothly. The local Da’wah officer expressed gratitude to Al Hilal Hospital and the participating medical teams for their medical support, as well as to the group of pharmacies that donated medications, including Bahrain Pharmacy, Nasser Pharmacy, Wael Pharmacy, Al-Razi Pharmacy, Al-Khalij Pharmacy, Al-Muscati Pharmacy, Jaafar Pharmacy, Behzaad Pharmacy, and others, which contributed to the success of this program.
